Pre and Post Music!

One of the nice parts to REFRESH is the 30 minutes before and after the event.

During this time, we have live music -- from guitar, to harp, to flute to traditional Thai khim.

This October 12, we are please to have Wes and I-man Uyeda for our music -- on guitar and vocals.

Be sure to come early, listen and check out the art, and linger and have a coffee afterwards.

Art for REFRESH!

This coming REFRESH on October 12 will feature the artwork of Karen Block, Kit Ripley,  Erin Wright and others.

Using mixed media and "de/re-constructed" books, each piece is unique!  Amazing and creative work!

REFRESH DATES! For the new year

We are excited to announce that we've been able to confirm the dates and venues for REFRESH for the 2012/2013 school year.

We are going to have six events this year -- three in the first semester, three in the second.

We are going to be at two venues -- House of Praise (HOP) church and Grace International School (GIS). Both are well equipped with sound equipment (saving hours of set up!) and HOP is located in the city (just off the superhighway near Wat Jed Yod and Nimanhamen Road), and GIS south of Chiang Mai in World Club.  A big thanks to both for agreeing to host REFRESH this year!

The format will be the same as last year -- 30 minutes pre and post music and a cafe, then 90 minutes of worship.  We'll be doing some new things this year, and are looking forward to seeing God work in Chiang Mai!

REFRESH next year!

We have GOOD NEWS to share…
REFRESH is continuing in 2012-13!

Mansons & Ritchies run and lead REFRESH together. Mansons are leaving in August for at least 2 years. It has been a big undertaking for the Ritchies to think about keeping REFRESH going without Mansons since we have run this together. But after much talking, thinking and praying, Mark and Dana feel God wants them to continue. We are working on how we can make it work. There are gaps to fill, with all four Mansons heavily involved in REFRESH, and because of their particular roles. And there's the usual unknowns from year to year. But we feel God wants REFRESH to go on so we will walk in faith for His provision, as we have for the last 3 years of REFRESH.

Please pray with us as we trust in God’s provision for REFRESH 2012-13.

REFRESH this Friday, May 18!

REFRESH is FRIDAY MAY 18 @ CMIS

music+art+music from 7:00pm, worship from 7:30pm

Cafe: SOJO'S CAFE will be serving hot & cold drinks and savoury & sweet snacks, from 7:00pm throughout the evening.

Pre-event music: Looking forward to having MARK RITCHIE + JENNY McKECHNIE play the 'prelude music' at REFRESH, 7:00-7:30pm. Mark will play dulcimer  and Jenny will play bodhran.  

Post-event music: Looking forward to having MEGAN FENIAK + BOREAL SONS (Zach Schultz, Evan Acheson, Reagan McLean) sing & play their original music in the 'postlude music' at REFRESH, 9:00-9:30pm. Megan, Zach, Evan & Reagan are visiting from Canada. Some of you will know Megan and her family - Megan graduated from GIS 4 years ago and Megan's family are still here in Chiang Mai.


Live art: We're excited to have FRANCES CANNON painting live during the worship time at the May REFRESH. This will be Frances' third time to paint live at REFRESH. Grateful to Frances for blessing us with her artistic giftedness as she worships God.

Community art: During the event we will have a time for community sourced art -- writing together to finish the statement "Worship Is..."  Think about what worship is to you -- when, how, what?  Come prepared to add a note to the community wall.

The prelude & postlude music at the April REFRESH is by TOM OLIVER + ZACH LANCASTER + JOEL MILLER.  Prelude is 7:00-7:30pm & postlude is 9:00-9:30pm.
