REFRESH will be starting it's third year -- dates and venue confirmed!
Delighted to announce that REFRESH is ready to start its 3rd year! The venue is the same, CMIS, huge thanks to CMIS! But the night is changing- this year REFRESH will be on Friday nights (not Saturday nights). Here are the dates:
All Fridays: Sept 9, Nov 4, Dec 2, Jan 20, Feb 17, Mar 30, Apr 27, May 18
Since it's Friday evenings we'll start a little later than we did last year, 7:30-9:00pm (instead of 7:00-8:30pm).
We're excited about the year ahead!

Update on REFRESH
We thought we had the dates & venue for the next international school year settled but it became apparent recently that they aren’t.
We very much hope to start as planned on Saturday September 3rd but we’re not sure if we’ll be able to do a 3rd year of REFRESH because of uncertainty regarding a venue.
We'll keep you updated here on on the REFRESH Facebook page.

Photos from May 21 REFRESH!
Here are a series of photos of the final REFRESH of the 2010-2011 season.
Thanks to Julie Green for the photos, and all of the people who've made a contribution to REFRESH over the last year -- the musicians, support and set up crew, artists, SoJo's Cafe, and everyone who came and worshiped together!
The photos are in order, from pre event music to worship, dance, crowdsourced art, to post event music.

Upcoming art... crowdsourcing for the next REFRESH
I read a lot of design and art blogs, and this project crossed my newsfeed not long ago, an urban public art project by Cindy Chang.
Her project, Before I Die, is a community art piece in New Orleans, in the United States. She took an abandoned house, and turned it into a place for the local community to share, dream, and engage with each other by answering a simple but profound question -- what do you want to do before you die?
The images (shown below and linked above) stuck with me for a long time, and I was taken with the idea of doing something similar. Looking back through everything all of us have been through over the last year. And thinking, how have we been blessed?
So inspired by a public crowdsourced art installation in New Orleans, REFRESH Chiang Mai will be doing the same at the next event -- completing the sentence "This year, I've been blessed by..."
Think about all the things in your life that have blessed you -- events, people, things you've read, seen or heard over the last year. Bring those ideas with you to the next REFRESH to write on the wall and share. If you're inspired, bring a poem or a small piece of art to put on the wall.
Take some time to look at the photos below, click through to Cindy Chang's original art that inspired this, and think about how you've been blessed.
